To Be Modest: Reading Jing Hua Yuan

Jing Hua Yuan is a book written by Li Ru Zhen. The most interesting part of this book is about Mr. Duo, Lin Zhiyang and Tang Ao’s adventuring. They arrived in many imaginary countries. Their miraculous experience had a great influence on me.

The three men adventured in “Black Teeth Country,” where people were really poor. After Mr. Duo realized this, he decided to show off his knowledge.

To the men’s surprise, every person in this poor country was rich with knowledge. Quickly, he was defeated by a young school girl. Mr. Duo felt very ashamed. From then on, he never pretended to be knowledgeable.

As the saying goes, “never judge a person by his appearance.” Everyone can be our teacher in some aspects. I used to be a student who loved to show off. I changed a lot after I have read this book. Soon, I found that there were many things I could learn from other students, who I used to think were less intelligent than me. They are all better than me in many different aspects. Being a humble person can help you learn many things.
